Busan International Rock Festival 2026 returns to Samnak Eco Park for three days from October 2 to October 4, 2026. For international travelers, it is a chance to combine a major Korean music festival with a trip to Busan rather than treating live music as a Seoul-only experience.
Venue: Samnak Eco Park, Sasang-gu, Busan.
Timing: VISITKOREA lists 10:00-22:00; use the organizer’s final gate and stage timetable for your ticketed day.
Admission: Paid.
Why go to Busan International Rock Festival?
VISITKOREA describes the event as Korea’s first and longest-running international rock festival. The 2026 edition is the 27th festival and features Korean and international artists across stages in Samnak Eco Park.
The setting is part of the appeal. Instead of an indoor arena, the festival takes place in a large riverside ecological park, giving the event the atmosphere of a full outdoor music weekend.
Choose your festival day
The organizer’s final 2026 lineup lists these headliners:
- Friday, October 2: Avenged Sevenfold.
- Saturday, October 3: Megadeth.
- Sunday, October 4: The Libertines.
The wider bill includes Korean and international artists across several stages. Match your ticket to the day of the acts you want to see, then check the stage timetable for clashes and set times when it is released.
Where is the festival?
The venue is Samnak Eco Park (삼락생태공원), 29-50 Samnak-dong, Sasang-gu, Busan. Save the park, then check the organizer’s entry map so your bus or taxi route ends at the festival entrance rather than another part of the park.
The organizer has announced foreign-visitor round-trip shuttle options through k.ride, including shuttle-only and shuttle-plus-ticket packages. Seats are limited and the pickup points, departure times and package conditions are shown in the app. Check that the return departure fits your final set before purchasing. Otherwise, plan the public-transport or taxi connection back to your accommodation before arriving.
How long should you plan for?
If music is the main reason for your visit, plan around a full festival day rather than trying to fit it between several tourist attractions. Travelers attending on multiple days should consider staying in Busan for the entire weekend.
Tickets and planning
The official regular-ticket notice lists KRW 120,000 for one day, KRW 193,000 for two days and KRW 266,000 for three days. Two-day passes cover Friday–Saturday or Saturday–Sunday. The notice names YES24 TICKET Global and Klook as booking channels; start from the organizer’s global ticket page to follow its current sales links and check availability and any booking charges.
Check the purchaser’s name carefully. The ticket guidance says the reservation-holder name cannot be changed and multi-day passes must be used by the same person. Final admission procedures and gate times are to be announced separately. Keep the booking confirmation and read the rules for your chosen sales channel before departure.
What should you bring?
For an outdoor festival, comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing matter more than an elaborate sightseeing outfit. Check rules for bags, outside food and drinks, umbrellas, chairs and other items shortly before the event because festival policies can change.
Combine the festival with a Busan trip
Keep the music day focused on Samnak Eco Park and use a separate day for the coast or markets. Our Seoul–Busan train guide helps with the intercity leg, while the Busan dwaeji gukbap guide offers an easy local meal idea before heading to the park.
Who will enjoy it most?
This festival is an especially strong choice for travelers interested in Korean live music beyond K-pop idol concerts. It also suits visitors who enjoy large outdoor festivals and want a reason to include Busan in an autumn Korea itinerary.
Final 2026 tip
October is a busy festival month in Korea. The Busan International Rock Festival overlaps with other major events around the country, so book intercity transport and accommodation early once your festival tickets are confirmed.
