YES24 Global Ticket Guide for Foreigners: Passport Verification, Payment and Will Call

Buying a K-pop concert ticket from outside Korea is less about clicking quickly and more about getting your identity, account and payment setup correct before sales open. YES24 Global Ticket now uses a “Verified Member Only” identity-verification system for selected concerts and musicals, and its official FAQ specifically advises eligible foreign users to complete verification at least one or two days before ticket sales because traffic can delay the process. If you wait until the sale minute to discover that your passport name does not match your account, speed will not save you.

Create the correct YES24 Global Ticket account

YES24’s English FAQ says ticket booking is available to members and explains that the Global YES24 Ticket site uses a separate account from other YES24 services. If you already have another YES24 ID, do not assume it automatically works on the global ticketing site. Register where the performance page directs international buyers.

The official signup page tells users to enter their name in English exactly as it appears on the passport. This is not cosmetic. YES24 warns that a mismatch between the account name and passport can create problems when collecting tickets at the venue. Use the same order and spelling consistently when possible, and avoid nicknames.

Before an important sale, log in on the device you plan to use and check that you can reach My Ticket/My Info without resetting your password. A forgotten password ten minutes before a popular sale is a preventable problem.

Verified Member Only: do eKYC before the sale

For selected performances marked “Verified Member Only,” YES24 Global requires identity verification before booking. The official FAQ describes the process as selecting nationality, using a foreign passport, and completing face recognition. Verification can be started from the show detail page or from My Info → Verify Account.

The steps include receiving an email verification code, photographing the passport, reviewing the extracted information and taking a face photo. Once successful, the account status changes to verified. YES24 says the verification applies to shows using the same Verified Member system, rather than requiring the full process again for every marked performance.

Most importantly, the FAQ tells users not to wait until ticket sales begin. It recommends completing verification at least one to two days in advance because high traffic may create delays. If the status becomes Pending or Declined, the official guidance directs users to customer support; the user may not be able to simply retry immediately.

Use a physical passport and match your booking identity

For the Global eKYC system, YES24’s FAQ lists foreign passports as the accepted identity document and says passport copies or photos are not accepted for that verification flow. Korean nationals living abroad have a separate support process described in the FAQ. Follow the rule that applies to your citizenship rather than trying to use a different document because it is easier.

At will call, the general YES24 FAQ says you should present a physical valid ID/passport and booking confirmation. It also warns that will-call tickets are normally collected by the ticket holder, not a representative, though an individual performance can publish a different policy. The event detail page therefore overrides general guidance when it imposes stricter identity checks.

This is why buying a ticket under a friend’s account can be risky even if payment succeeds. A transferred reservation may fail at pickup if the show checks the purchaser’s identity. For high-demand K-pop events, assume the name match matters unless the event’s own policy explicitly says otherwise.

Will call versus delivery

YES24’s English booking guide shows will call as a standard delivery method and tells users to enter accurate information because it is used for purchase confirmation and ticket pickup. The FAQ says tickets generally cannot be collected before show day; arrive with enough time on the performance date.

Overseas delivery availability varies by performance. Do not choose a ticket based on an old concert’s delivery policy. On the current show page, check whether the ticket is will call, overseas delivery, mobile ticket or another method, and read the timing rules before payment.

If you use will call, save the purchase number and booking confirmation offline. Bring the physical document required by that specific event. A screenshot of a passport is not a safe substitute where the policy requires the original.

Payment setup before the queue opens

YES24’s current English FAQ says credit-card payment is available with restrictions and may require 3-D Secure authentication; PayPal availability can depend on the booking circumstances. Payment methods can change, so your goal is not to memorize one card rule forever. Instead, verify your chosen card supports international online payment and 3-D Secure before the concert sale.

Make sure your card issuer will not block a Korean merchant as suspicious. A payment failure after seat selection can return the seat to inventory. Have a backup payment method if the current show allows one, but do not create multiple fraudulent or duplicate accounts to bypass ticket limits.

Pop-up blocking can also stop the booking window. YES24’s FAQ provides browser instructions for allowing pop-ups from ticket.yes24.com. Test that before sale time rather than changing security settings while a queue is moving.

Every concert can have stricter rules

The most important sentence in the YES24 pickup FAQ is that each show can operate under a different policy and the detailed show information takes priority. Some K-pop concerts use fan-club presales, membership verification, per-person limits, strict entry identity checks or special pickup windows. General YES24 rules are the baseline, not a promise that every idol concert works the same way.

Read the full notice from top to bottom. Look for: sale time in KST, presale eligibility, purchase limit, accepted IDs, name-matching rules, ticket pickup hours, cancellation cutoff, prohibited resale language and whether mobile screenshots are accepted. Save the notice because organizers can update details.

A 48-hour pre-sale and show-day checklist

  • Create or confirm your Global YES24 Ticket account.
  • Make sure your account name matches your passport.
  • If the show is Verified Member Only, complete eKYC one or two days early.
  • Check that the verified status is complete, not Pending.
  • Enable pop-ups for the booking site.
  • Confirm your card’s international and 3-D Secure settings.
  • Read the event-specific purchase limit and identity policy.
  • Convert the sale time to your local timezone and KST.

On the day of the show

Bring the physical passport or other exact ID accepted by the event, your booking confirmation, and the payment or membership documentation if the event notice specifically asks for it. Arrive early enough for a will-call queue. Do not schedule a tight airport transfer or KTX departure immediately after the concert; venue exit and transport queues can be substantial.

If your passport name and ticket name differ, contact YES24 before the event instead of hoping staff will ignore it. If your eKYC status is unresolved, use the customer support route shown by YES24. Identity-controlled events are designed to prevent fraudulent reservations, so venue staff may have little flexibility.

Bottom line: for foreigners, successful K-pop ticketing begins before the sale: correct Global account, passport-matched name, early identity verification where required, working payment and a careful read of the show notice. Clicking fast matters only after those pieces are ready.
