Travelers choosing a smaller guesthouse in Jeju have a timely 2026 incentive worth checking. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization are running a Safety-Certified Rural Guesthouse Review SNS Event from September 11 to November 30, 2026.
The first 1,000 eligible visitors who stay at least 1 night and 2 days at a participating safety-certified rural guesthouse, post a qualifying social-media review, and complete in-person verification can choose a KRW 20,000 paper Tamnajeon voucher or a KRW 20,000 Jeju Tourism Organization Jungmun Duty-Free Shop voucher.
Who is eligible?
The official Visit Jeju event page says the review promotion is for tourists visiting Jeju who stay at least one night and two days at a Safety-Certified Rural Guesthouse. A random pension, hotel or ordinary guesthouse does not automatically qualify; the property must be on the safety-certified list.
The event is limited to the first 1,000 participants and can end early if the budget is exhausted. That means a November trip is not guaranteed to qualify simply because the published end date is November 30.
What do you receive?
Eligible participants can choose one of two benefits:
- KRW 20,000 paper Tamnajeon local-currency voucher, or
- KRW 20,000 voucher for the Jeju Tourism Organization Jungmun Duty-Free Shop.
The benefit is described as per person on the official event page, subject to successful verification and remaining event budget.
How to participate
- Stay at least 1 night and 2 days at a safety-certified rural guesthouse in Jeju.
- Take a photo that shows the safety-certified guesthouse sign or business name.
- Post a review on social media using the required hashtags and account tag.
- Visit the Jeju Tourism Organization Jungmun Duty-Free Shop Information Desk.
- Show the required verification documents and submit the verification form through the provided QR process.
The official event page lists required social tags including #JejuSafeAccommodation, #SafetyCertifiedRuralGuesthouse, the accommodation name, and @visitjeju.kr. Check the live page before posting in case the required wording changes.
What documents should you keep?
Visit Jeju lists items such as identification, the accommodation payment receipt, a screenshot of the reservation details, and a screenshot of the social-media post among the verification materials.
Do not discard your booking receipt after check-in. It may be easier to save screenshots before traveling to the claim desk, especially if your booking app requires a login or has poor reception.
Where do you claim the reward?
The pickup and verification point is the Jeju Tourism Organization Jungmun Duty-Free Shop Information Desk on the first floor of the Jeju International Convention Center in Jungmun. The official event page lists operating hours of 10:00–19:00.
This matters when choosing accommodation. If your itinerary is entirely in eastern or northern Jeju, traveling to Jungmun solely to claim KRW 20,000 may not be worth the time. The promotion makes the most sense if Jungmun or Seogwipo is already part of your route.
There is also a separate family campaign
Do not confuse this review event with the separate family-traveler campaign that began July 22. That program has different requirements, including a Jeju Digital Tourism Card, at least 2 nights and 3 days at a safety-certified rural guesthouse, and family participation conditions.
The newer September 11 review event is broader in stay length but requires a qualifying social-media review and in-person verification. Check which campaign fits your situation rather than assuming the benefits can be combined.
Is it worth choosing a guesthouse just for the voucher?
Probably not if the location, room type or transport does not fit your trip. A KRW 20,000 benefit should be a bonus, not the main reason to stay far from the places you want to visit. Compare the guesthouse location with your actual itinerary first.
If you are traveling without a car, our Jeju City vs Hamdeok without a car guide can help you think about bus access before booking.
Decide whether the reward is worth the detour
The KRW 20,000 benefit is useful only if the claim process fits your trip. Before booking, compare your accommodation location with the Jungmun verification desk, your transport method and your check-out day. A traveler already visiting Jungmun or the ICC area can claim the reward with little extra effort, while someone staying entirely in eastern Jeju may spend more time and transport cost than the voucher is worth.
Think of the promotion as a bonus attached to a suitable guesthouse, not a reason to choose a worse location. Room quality, bus access, parking, check-in hours and the places you actually want to visit should still come first.
A low-risk way to complete the verification
Save the accommodation reservation screenshot before the trip, keep the payment receipt after check-in, and take a clear photo showing the certified property name or sign while you are still at the guesthouse. Post the review only after checking the live hashtag requirements, then save a screenshot of the finished post in case mobile data is weak at the verification desk.
On the claim day, bring identification and all proof in one folder on your phone. If you are traveling as a group, check whether each participant must independently satisfy the posting and verification conditions rather than assuming one reservation automatically gives everyone a reward.
