Gangnam is often imagined as glossy Seoul: wide roads, fashion stores, entertainment companies and immaculate cafes. K-Star Road turns that image into a walkable route for Hallyu fans, linking Apgujeong and Cheongdam through a district closely associated with Korean entertainment culture.
Begin Near Apgujeong Rodeo
The official Seoul tourism guide describes K-Star Road as a roughly one-kilometer Hallyu route stretching through the Apgujeong and Cheongdam area. Along the way, colorful GangnamDol figures represent well-known K-pop acts and make easy photo stops.
Start near Apgujeong Rodeo Station and walk without rushing. The district is polished but not especially loud, and side streets reveal cafes, boutiques and galleries that make the route feel more like a neighborhood walk than a fan attraction.
Look Beyond the GangnamDols
The sculptures are the obvious reason many visitors come, but the area is more interesting when you notice how entertainment, fashion and luxury retail overlap. Cheongdam in particular has long been linked with agencies, stylists and high-end brands.
Do not enter private offices or wait outside company buildings. Public sidewalks and official attractions are the right places to enjoy the neighborhood.
Pair the Walk with Coffee or Shopping
After the K-Star Road section, continue toward Cheongdam or return toward Apgujeong for a cafe break. The pace here is different from Hongdae. There is less street noise and more attention to design, storefronts and quiet indoor spaces.
Gangnam’s K-pop appeal is subtle: less performance, more proximity to the industry that shapes the music.
A Simple Half-Day Plan
Allow two to three hours for the K-Star Road area, then add nearby shopping or a cafe. Comfortable shoes still matter because the route is longer than it looks once you begin exploring side streets.
