Gangnam is often imagined as glossy Seoul: wide roads, fashion stores, entertainment companies and immaculate cafes. K-Star Road turns that image into a walkable route for Hallyu fans, linking Apgujeong and Cheongdam through a district closely associated with Korean entertainment culture.
Begin at Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 2
Use Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 2 → the Galleria frontage → the GangnamDol sculptures → Cheongdam crossroads as the public-street framework. Visit Seoul describes a roughly one-kilometer sculpture stretch, with the large PSY figure near Galleria and group-themed figures along the route, including Girls’ Generation, EXO and BTS.
The official historical route identifies Block B as the last figure in its list. Use current street signs and the sculptures you can see rather than treating the old list as a guarantee that every object or nearby business is unchanged. The walk ends in the Cheongdam area; it does not require entering any agency office.
Look Beyond the GangnamDols
The sculptures are the obvious reason many visitors come, but the area is more interesting when you notice how entertainment, fashion and luxury retail overlap. Cheongdam in particular has long been linked with agencies, stylists and high-end brands.
Do not enter private offices or wait outside company buildings. Public sidewalks and official attractions are the right places to enjoy the neighborhood.
Pair the Walk with Coffee or Shopping
After the K-Star Road section, continue toward Cheongdam or return toward Apgujeong for a cafe break. The pace here is different from Hongdae. There is less street noise and more attention to design, storefronts and quiet indoor spaces.
Gangnam’s K-pop appeal is subtle: less performance, more proximity to the industry that shapes the music.
A Simple Half-Day Plan
Set aside 45–60 minutes as a relaxed photo-walk allowance for the core sculpture stretch, depending on crossings and stops. Allow two to three hours including a café and nearby browsing, not two to three hours of continuous walking before those breaks. Add the COEX transfer separately if you choose the extension below.

What Is Still Reliable — and What Can Change
Visit Seoul describes the core K-Star Road as an approximately 1 km stretch between the Apgujeong Rodeo area and Cheongdam, marked by GangnamDol sculptures representing K-pop acts. That physical route is the useful anchor for a visit. Agency offices, branded cafes and entertainment businesses are much more changeable, so do not build your day around an old blog post that assumes a particular company is still in the same building.
This distinction matters because even Visit Seoul’s longer historical K-Star Road feature now marks the former SM Entertainment Celebrity Center in the area as permanently closed. Treat K-Star Road as a public Hallyu streetscape, not a map for locating artists.
Continue to COEX for a Stronger K-Pop Half-Day
If you want more than the outdoor sculptures, continue to Samseong after the walk. COEX K-Pop Square adds the giant media-screen experience, while Ktown4u COEX is a practical stop for current albums, goods and K-culture experiences. This creates a more satisfying Gangnam fan day: heritage and neighborhood context in Cheongdam first, then a contemporary K-pop complex around COEX.
