2026 Hangang Drone Light Show: October 9 & 31 Dates After the September Opener

Seoul’s autumn drone show season is already underway, but travelers arriving later still have two major dates left. The official 2026 Hangang Drone Light Show schedule lists three autumn performances at Ttukseom Hangang Park: September 12, October 9 and October 31.

As of September 16, the September opener has passed. The practical choices for an upcoming trip are therefore Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 31.

Autumn 2026 schedule

Date Venue Status as of Sep. 16
Sep. 12, 2026 Ttukseom Hangang Park Past
Oct. 9, 2026 Ttukseom Hangang Park Upcoming
Oct. 31, 2026 Ttukseom Hangang Park Upcoming

The official event site lists the evening program as cultural performances from 19:30, the main drone show from 20:30 to 20:45, followed by more programming. The show is free.

The organizer’s August 27 autumn announcement gives the following baseline timetable. A date-specific notice can override supporting performances, so do not carry the September opening show’s guest lineup or promotions into your October plan.

Time Published program
19:30–20:30 Cultural performance, part 1
20:30–20:45 Main drone light show
20:45–20:55 Mini drone show
20:55–21:25 Cultural performance, part 2

The main display lasts about 15 minutes, not the entire evening. A relaxed arrival is more useful than planning a long journey for a presumed two-hour drone performance. Treat the remaining dates as scheduled events, not a guarantee of weather or operating conditions.

Why you should not arrive at 20:25

The drone performance itself is short, but the crowd is not. Ttukseom is one of Seoul’s most convenient riverside parks and large events can concentrate thousands of people around the same subway exits. Arriving well before sunset gives you time to find the correct viewing area, buy food and avoid trying to move through the crowd minutes before the show.

For most visitors, public transport is simpler than driving. For the park, search for Jayang (Ttukseom Hangang Park) Station on Line 7. Seoul’s official park-area guidance uses this station name; do not confuse it with Ttukseom Station on Line 2. The destination is the park’s announced viewing area, not simply any place with Ttukseom in its name. Seoul’s official park-area transport information confirms the Line 7 station, but the event organizer’s same-day directions determine which exits and paths are available. Follow the event-day signs because pedestrian flow can change when crowd controls are active.

Event-day access is more specific than the ordinary park route. Seoul’s September 14 autumn visitor notice directs attendees to Jayang Station Exit 1 for the Ttukseom riverside-stage area. Exits 2 and 3 may be restricted for safety. Follow stewards and temporary signs even if an older map suggests a shorter entrance.

The same notice warns that vehicles in park parking lots 3 and 4 may be held until 21:30. It also says the park’s public Wi-Fi will be suspended from 12:00 to 21:30 on event days. This is not a claim that mobile phone service is unavailable. Save your route and meeting point beforehand, keep a charged phone, and avoid relying on park Wi-Fi to retrieve the return journey.

Weather can change the plan

Drones are sensitive to rain and strong wind. The organizer explicitly warns that a performance may be delayed or canceled because of weather. This is one event where checking the official notice page on the afternoon of your visit matters more than relying on a screenshot saved weeks earlier.

Make a backup plan before leaving. If the organizer cancels or restricts access, do not wait at the riverside hoping the display will restart. Choose an indoor meal or another independently open venue instead. For groups, agree on a meeting point outside the busiest approach; a message saying only ‘near the station’ is not enough when different exits are controlled. With children, prioritize a clear return path over the closest possible viewing position.

A simple evening plan

  1. Reach Ttukseom Hangang Park around 18:00–18:30.
  2. Choose a viewing area with a clear view toward the show zone.
  3. Use the restroom and buy food before the main crowd peaks.
  4. Watch the cultural program from 19:30.
  5. Stay through the 20:30 drone show, then wait a little before heading straight to the subway if exits are packed.
